Bio

Steven R. Fritsche, Ph.D., CPAI am a full-time member of the teaching faculty at Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas, Virginia. I have been a member of the faculties of Howard University, the University of Baltimore, the Catholic University of America, and Syracuse University. Prior to my academic career, I held positions in public accounting with Goldfein, Silverman & Olson, Ltd. (now TK Advisors Ltd.), a CPA firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and with Voto, Reardon, Tautges, & Co., Ltd. (now HLB Tautges Redpath, Ltd.), a CPA firm based in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. I received my B.S. in Accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and my Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Alabama.

Research Interests

My research is in the area of empirical financial accounting. I have investigated the usefulness of publicly available financial accounting information in evaluating the performance of firms. My research has been published in several journals, including the Journal of Applied Business Research, the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, and Managerial Finance .

Teaching Interests

I have taught several undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, including Introductory Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Consolidations & Partnerships, and Accounting Theory. A copy of my vita is available in Adobe PDF format.
